Ingredients:
- 4 cups fresh mulberries
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
Thoroughly wash and rinse the mulberries
The mulberries, sugar, lemon juice, and zest should all be combined in a big pot
Bring the mixture to a boil while cooking over medium heat, stirring from time to time
After lowering the heat to low, simmer the jam for thirty to forty minutes, or until it thickens
After adding the vanilla extract, turn off the heat
Give the jam a few minutes to cool
Leave a 1/4-inch headspace at the top of the sterilized jars when you carefully pour the hot jam inside
To make sure the jars are properly sealed, seal them and process them in a hot water bath for ten minutes
After allowing the jars to reach room temperature, store them in a dark, cool location
Savor your homemade mulberry jam with pancakes, toast, or as a garnish for sweets
