Ingredients:
- 1 block firm tofu, drained and pressed
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, for garnish
- Cooked rice, for serving
Instructions:
Get the oven ready by heating it up to 400F 200C
Put the cubes of pressed tofu in a bowl
Along with the minced garlic and ginger, mix the soy sauce, maple syrup, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and rice vinegar in a different bowl
Toss the tofu cubes in the marinade, being careful not to break them up
You can put the tofu cubes on a baking sheet that has been lined with parchment paper
Tofu should be golden brown and crispy after 25 to 30 minutes of baking, and it should be turned over halfway through
To make a slurry, mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl
Pour the rest of the marinade into a saucepan set over medium-low heat
Bring to a simmer
Add the slurry of cornstarch and stir it in
Cook until the sauce gets thicker
Move the tofu to a serving dish after its done baking and drizzle it with the sauce that has thickened
Add green onions and sesame seeds that have been sliced on top
Serve hot on top of rice that has been cooked
